الأرجنتيني أنطونيو أبرتوندو المولود سنة 1919 سبح من إنجلترا إلى فرنسا في 18 ساعة و 50 دقيقة في 20-21/9/1961 وبعد أن استراح حوالي 4 دقائق استدار وعاد إلى إنجلترا واستغرقت عودته 24 ساعة و 16 دقيقة ، وهكذا أكمل أول قطع مزدوج للمانش خلال 43 ساعة و 10 دقائق ، وأكمل كيفن مورفي المولود في عام 1949 أول قطع للمانش خلال 35 ساعة و 10 دقائق في 6/8/1970 وأول سبّاح قطع بحر المانش في الجهتين كان إدوارد تيمي -1904-1978- في 5/8/1927 و 19/8/1934. وأسرع قطع مزدوج استغرق 18 ساعة و 15 دقيقة حققته الهولندية أبرين فان درلان المولودة في 27/12/1960 وذلك في 18/8/1983 وأول امرأة بريطانية حققت هذا الإنجاز هي أليسون ستربتر المولدة في 29/8/1964 وذلك خلال 21 ساعة و 16 دقيقة في 4/8/1983 وأسرع ما حققه فريق سباحين بالبدل هو 16 ساعة و 2/51 دقيقة بما في ذلك دقيقتان للراحة على يد ستة سباحين سعوديين في 11/8/1977.
